Opale

Opale, publishing chain for the editing, management and multimedia publication of academic training documents.

What is the Opale publishing chain?

Opale is a publishing chain for the production of academic documents. The documents produced through different publishing media can be used in a variety of contexts:

  • To back up a face to face class,
  • To produce a reference paper document,
  • To promote remote learning,
  • To exchange content with other organizations.

To do this, the Opale publishing chain allows you to produce these document types:

  • slideshows for video projection (Flash),
  • printable documents (ODT for Open Office and PDF),
  • Web (XHTML or HTML 4.01 Transitional - W3C standards),
  • exportable to a pivot schema UNIT (XML).

Scenari-sup project

The scenari-sup project is:

  • a publishing chain instrumentalized by the SCENARI application environment in which the OpaleSup teaching documentary model is integrated,
  • methodological advice on usage and accompaniment for the deployment of a publishing chain in higher education institutes.

The OpaleLight publishing chain

OpaleLight is a simplified version of the Opale publishing chain. As it is so easily approachable, OpaleLight is accessible to content writers (trainers, teachers in secondary and higher eductaion, researchers etc.).

Simplified content entry

The editor has been graphically redesigned to simplify structured editing as much as possible:

  • much thought has been given to the colors and icons,
  • enhanced logical structure of the scenario,
  • simplification of the Opale structure and metadata.

Easier file management

To simplify file management and make navigation easier:

  • a single item allows you to write the whole document,
  • only files that are editable outside the OpaleLight publishing chain are externalized (pictures, tables, sounds, videos etc.),
  • a zone installed by default (MonModule) contains the unique editing item and storage spaces for different resources (MesImages, MesSchemas, MesVideos...)

Participants

Opale is the result of a joint effort by:

  • ICS,
  • Université des Sciences et Technologies de Lille,
  • Ecole des Mines d'Albi-Carmaux,
  • Université de Corte Pascal Paoli,
  • Iode.
